Experience the soothing sensation as your fears melt away and you enter a state of total relaxation. For most dental phobic patients, this may seem like a dream. At WisconsinSmiles, Dr. Roberto Monteagudo makes this dream a reality with sedation dentistry.

Dr. Monteagudo is a world-class general, cosmetic, and sedation dentist. He received advanced training in sedation dentistry from the esteemed Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS). The doctor uses his advanced postgraduate training along with his extensive skill and dedication to excellence to deliver a stress-free experience. He offers oral conscious sedation to give patients the peace of mind they deserve.

What is oral conscious sedation?

This technique combines two highly effective, proven medications: an oral sedative and nitrous oxide gas. As a sedation dentistry patient, you’ll take the sedative about an hour before your dental appointment. Then, when you’re comfortably situated in a treatment room at our West Allis office, the doctor will administer nitrous oxide to deepen your sedation.

As the sedating medications take effect, you’ll drift into a realm of comfort and serenity. The effects of oral conscious sedation will wear off gradually after your treatments, and you’ll most likely resume normal activities the day following your appointment. The sedating medication makes time fly and leaves patients with no memory of treatment details.

Is oral conscious sedation right for me?

At your sedation dentistry consultation with Dr. Monteagudo, we encourage you to openly discuss your dental fears. The doctor will never judge you. Instead, he’ll work with you to face dental visits with confidence. Dr. Monteagudo often recommends oral conscious sedation for patients who:

  • Experience mild to severe dental anxiety
  • Gag easily
  • Have trouble keeping their mouths open or sitting in a dental chair for long periods of time
  • Need lengthy or complex dental procedures performed
  • Want to complete their dental work in a minimum number of visits
  • Dislike injections
  • Have had a negative experience at another dental office

We invite you to call our West Allis office today and schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Monteagudo. With sedation dentistry, you can achieve the smile you want – and deserve!
